Get to know the Samsung Ace
LISTENING TO MUSIC ON THE ACE™
Transfer music from your PC to the ACE™
To play a song on the ACE™, you must first copy music to your handset or a microSD™ card.* To download songs, you will
need the following:
• Windows Media
Player 10 (or higher) loaded onto your PC.
®
• Music on your PC in one of these formats: MP3, WMA.
• ActiveSync
or Windows
®
Note: Active Sync
software is included on the CD that came with your handset.
®
1. From the Home screen, press the left soft key for Start, then select Settings. Press 6 for Connections and 7 for More.
2. Select USB to PC and check the "Enable advanced network functionality" box by pressing the Center navigation key, and then
press the left soft key for Done.
3. Connect one end of the data cable to your computer. Plug the other end into the Power/Accessory Interface connection
located on the side of the ACE™. Wait for the connection to be completed. When connected, your computer will automatically
detect your device. If you have ActiveSync
Sync
is needed for the PC to recognize your ACE™, but Windows Media
®
songs to your ACE™ device.
4. Launch Windows Media
5. In the panel on the left, click on All Music (or Songs) to display all songs in your Library.
6. Right-click a song that you want to copy, click on Add to Sync List. You can also drag and drop files to the list. The song is
added to the Sync List in the pane on the right.
7. At the bottom of the Sync List, click Start Sync**. The song is copied to the handset.
8. ActiveSync
will transfer the music to your phone's memory by default.

Using Windows Media
Player Mobile to play music
®
Listen to music that you have transferred to your phone.
1. From the Home screen, press the Start soft key, then highlight the Windows Media icon and press the Center navigation key.
2. Select My Music, then select All Music.
3. Press the left soft key for Play.
4. To pause the song, press the Center navigation key. To stop the song, press the right soft key for Menu and press 3 for Stop.
NOTE: You can enjoy listening to your music hands-free using a Stereo Bluetooth
you can enhance the quality of mono and stereo audio, simulating stereo sound through a connected headset and creating
improved dynamics and bass performance. These enriching effects are especially noticeable on formats such as MP3s and
WMAs.
ACCESSING THE INTERNET FROM THE ACE™
Your device comes with a version of Microsoft Internet Explorer
your computer.
To launch the mobile browser:
1. Press the left soft key for Start.
2. Then highlight the Internet icon and press the Center navigation key. Select Internet Explorer.
Navigating to a specific Web address:
1. Press the right soft key for Menu and then 2 for Address Bar.
2. Press and hold the Back key to delete the default Web address.
3. Enter a new address beginning with www. then press the left soft key for Go.
NOTE: A list of recently visited Web sites may appear below the address bar in the event you would like to navigate to one of
those Web sites without having to retype the address.
Adding a Web page to your Favorites list:
When you find a Web page that you would like to revisit, it can be saved as a Favorite link.
1. While viewing the page you wish to add (after it is fully loaded), press the right soft key for Menu.
2. Then press 4 for Add to Favorites.
3. To alter the default entry name, press and hold the Back key to delete the current name used for this Web site. Enter a new
name.
4. Press the left soft key for Add.
