Get to know the Samsung Ace
HOW TO USE THE ACE™ INTERNATIONALLY
The ACE™ is a world phone supporting both CDMA networking and GSM. The SIM Card needed for GSM use is included with
the device and installed at purchase. This GSM card must be activated prior to its initial use. To use the ACE™ on international
networks, you must take the following actions:
1. Enable international service 24 hours before you travel by calling Sprint Worldwide Customer Service at 888-226-7212 and
choosing option 2.
2. Specify whether you want Voice Only or both Voice & Data service internationally enabled.
3. Check available International Wireless Coverage and the International Dialing Instructions for each country you will be visiting –
including the country code and access codes. This information can be found at www.sprint.com/international.
4. Just before you travel, change the service mode on the ACE™ as follows:
a) From the Home screen, press the left softkey for Start, then the left soft key again for More.
b) Then press the left soft key a third time for More. Highlight the Service Mode icon and press the Center navigation key.
c) Press the right navigation key until Int'l GSM appears, then press the right soft key for Apply.
PAIR THE PHONE WITH A BLUETOOTH
1. From the Home screen, press the Start soft key, then highlight the Settings icon and press the Center navigation key.
2. Press 6 for Connections and 2 for Bluetooth.
3. In the Bluetooth Devices screen, press the Menu soft key and scroll down to Turn On Bluetooth and press the Center
navigation key. In the same Menu, highlight Turn On Visibility and press the Center navigation key.
4. In the Bluetooth Devices screen, highlight Add new device... and press the Center navigation key. The screen will display,
"Searching for Bluetooth Devices".
5. From the list of devices detected, highlight the device you wish to add and press the Next soft key.
6. You may be prompted to enter the passcode for the new device. After typing it in, press the Next soft key. The two devices will
be paired to wirelessly connect.
NOTE: The ACE™ has Bluetooth OBEX profiles that allow the exchange of data, such as music files, pictures, calendar and
business cards, with other Bluetooth
HID, BPP, GOEP, SDAP/SDP, DUN, OPP, and SPP.
TAKE A PICTURE AND SEND TO A FRIEND
You will need to set up an email account before you can send pictures or videos. For more information, see the Setting Up Email
guide included with your device.
1. Press the Camera key (lower right corner of the keypad).
2. Aim the viewfinder at your subject and press the Center navigation key to take a picture.
3. Press the left soft key for Save.
4. Press the Messaging key (lower right corner of the keypad).
5. Highlight an email account and press the left soft key for Select.
6. Enter the recipient's email address in the To: field and enter a message title in the Subject: field using the keypad. Press the
Down navigation key to enter a message.
7. To insert a picture, press the right soft key for Menu, then select Insert. Press 1 for Picture.
8. Highlight a picture you wish to send and press the Center navigation key. Press the left soft key for Next.
9. To send the message, press the left soft key for Send.
