Floppy Disk Drive

The following alternatives are available to use floppy disks with your computer.
• Panasonic USB floppy disk drive (Model No. CF-VFDU03*)
• Panasonic floppy disk drive (Model No. CF-VFDU01*) for the port replicator (Model
No. CF-VEB341*/CF-VEB342*)
* indicates to be purchased separately
The utilization mode (i.e., yes or no) and the drive name of the floppy disk drive, in the
settings of the Setup Utility and the Device Manager of Windows, are as shown in the
tables below. (- indicates a "No" for the utilization mode, and A, B, and D denote drive
names.)

CF-VFDU03(USB)
* The drive name will given another letter (e.g., D, F,...) by the computer if another device
has already been assigned this drive name. (The FDD cannot be used in the DOS
mode.)
NOTE
The Panasonic CF-VFDU03 USB floppy disk drive can be connected via the USB
connector of either the computer or a port replicator. As a boot drive, however, only
the USB connector of the computer can be used.
CAUTION
If a USB floppy disk drive other than the Panasonic CF-VFDU03 USB floppy disk
drive is used, operations such as reinstallation cannot be performed because the
FDD will be unable to be used as a boot drive.
