Connecting a telephone line to the internal modem
It is not possible to connect the internal modem to any of the following lines.
Internal home phones
Intercoms
CAUTION
Do not use the PBX internal phone lines installed in company of-
fices. Doing so may lead to a fire or electric shock.
NOTE
There are cases telephone construction (or installation) work will be
necessary depending on the shape of the connector of the tele-
phone line.

Select [Dialing Properties] in [Start] - [Settings] - [Control
Panel] - [Modems]
Input the necessary information (items such as the area code) and then
press [Close].
CAUTION
Be sure that the country is properly set in this screen. Unless the
country is properly set, HyperTerminal will not work properly when it
is run the first time.
NOTE
When [Internal Modem] is set to [Disable] in the Setup Utility, the
internal modem will not operate. (At the time of purchase, [Internal
Modem] is set to [Enable].)

Set the country the modem is to be used in
Select [HCF Modem Country Select] in [Start] - [Settings] - [Control Panel].
Select [MP3930V-W(C) Modem] in [Modem Country Select].
Set the country in "Select a country".
Press [OK].
CAUTION
There are cases the modem will not work properly when this setting
is incorrect.
