  • Page 9 Harmful noise. Exposure to Radio Frequency Signals Your Iridium Extreme® PTT device is a low power radio transmitter and receiver. When it is ON, it receives and also sends out radio frequency (RF) signals. Your Iridium Extreme® PTT device is designed to comply with local regulatory requirements in your country concerning the exposure of human beings to RF frequency.
  • Page 10 Specific Absorption Rate Data This Iridium Extreme® PTT meets international standards for exposure to radio waves. Your satellite phone is designed and manufactured not to exceed limits for exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy. These limits are part of comprehensive guidelines and established permitted levels of RF energy for the general population.

    SIM Card In order to use the Iridium Extreme® PTT device for Phone Mode services, you will need a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card from your service provider. The SIM card contains your service details and memory for storing phone book entries and messages. A SIM card is not required to operate within the PTT Mode of the handset (although activation of PTT services is required).
