Telephone restart
Restore factory default settings
A restart of the telephone unit may be necessary to incorporate
changes made by the administrator, for example. There are four
possibilities for the optiPoint 300 basic to be restarted:
– Power on restart
Unplug the power connector briefly, then reconnect it.
– Manual restart
Press simultaneously the keys 1, 7 and 3.
– Automatic restart
This is performed following a serious error or changes to
administrator settings.
– Restart by the HiPath web administrator
You can restore your optiPoint 300 basic unit's factory default set-
tings at any time. Settings that have been changed with an admin-
istrator PIN can be reset in this way without having to enter the
PIN.
To restore the defaults, proceed as follows.
Put telephone into idle mode
Disconnect from network
Pick up handset
Press keys 2, 8 and 4 simultaneously
You will see the following display:

Once you have correctly entered the PIN and pressed
firm it, the factory default settings will be restored and your opti-
Point 300 basic unit restarted after reconnecting the net. Further
proceeding is described on pages 20, 21.
