Chapter 1. Introduction

Designed for computer environments that require high-performance, high-capacity
data storage, the DDS Gen 5 drive is the latest offering in the popular DDS
technology roadmap.
This SCSI tape drive is capable of storing up to 36 GB per data cartridge and
transferring data at a sustained rate of up to 3.5 MB per second. Both capacity and
transfer rate are further enhanced by its onboard data compression feature.
In addition to this User's Guide, provided on the User's Guide and Software CD, the
option package contains:

v mounting screws
v cleaning cartridge
v 3.5" drive bezel
v Quick Start Guide
v SCSI cable
v device drivers (in Drivers folder on User's Guide CD)
