Cleaning Your Meter

Caring for your Accu-Chek Performa Meter is easy – just keep it free of dust. If you need to
clean or disinfect it, follow these guidelines carefully to help you get the best performance
possible:
Do
• M ake sure the meter is off
• G ently wipe the meter's surface with a
soft cloth slightly dampened with one of
these cleaning solutions:
• 70 % isopropyl alcohol
• M ild dishwashing liquid mixed
with water
• 1 0 % household bleach solution
(1 part bleach plus 9 parts water)

• M ake sure you squeeze off excess liquid
from the cloth before you wipe the
meter's surface
Do Not
• G et any moisture in the code chip slot
or test strip slot
• S pray any cleaning solution directly
onto the meter
• P ut the meter under water or liquid
• P our liquid into the meter
