Cleaning and care
Do not use sharp, pointed objects to
clean the area between the glass ce‐
ramic and the trim or between the
trim and the countertop.
This could damage the seals.
Using dishwashing liquid to clean
the cooktop will not remove all soil‐
ing and residues.
It forms an invisible coating which
will cause permanent discolouration
of the ceramic surface.
Clean the cooktop regularly using a
special glass ceramic cleaner.
First, wipe away all coarse soiling from
the surface using a damp cloth. Stub‐
born soiling may need to be removed
with a scraper blade.
Then, clean the cooktop with the Miele
ceramic and stainless steel cleaner (see
"Optional accessories") or commercial
glass ceramic cleaner using a paper
towel or clean cloth. Do not put the
cleaner on a hot cooktop, as this may
cause spotting. Please follow the man‐
ufacturer's instructions.
Finally, clean the cooktop with a damp
cloth and dry it off. Cleaner residues
will bake onto the cooktop during sub‐
sequent use, which will damage the ce‐
ramic surface. Be sure to remove all
residues.
Spots from lime deposits, water, and
aluminum deposits (shiny metallic
spots) can be removed with a ceramic
and stainless steel cleaner.

Burn hazard.
Wear oven mitts when using a scra‐
per blade to remove sugar, plastic or
aluminum residues from a hot cook‐
top.
If any sugar, plastic or aluminum foil
spills or falls onto a hot cooktop when it
is in use, first turn off the appliance.
Then, using a scraper blade, carefully
scrape off these residues from the
cooktop immediately while they are
still hot. Allow the burner to cool down
before cleaning it as described above.
