ADJUSTING THE THREAD TENSIONS

Thread tension must be properly balanced.
If adjustment is required, it can be made
by changing the upper thread tension.
A. Correct Thread Tension
Upper and bobbin threads should interlock
in the middle of the fabric.
B. When bobbin thread appears on top
side of fabric.
Turn the tension dial to a lower number to loosen the
upper thread tension.
C. When upper thread appears on the bottom
side of fabric.
Turn the tension dial to a higher number to tighten
the upper thread tension.
D. Thread Tension for Zigzag Stitches
To sew zigzag stitches, thread tension should be set
to a slightly weaker tension than when sewing
straight stitches.
You will obtain a nicer stitch when upper thread
appears slightly on bottom side of fabric.
