Replacement of the C R Timing Belt
In order to remove the CR timing belt, first reverse the Printer Unit. Remove position plate 1 from
the thermal head assembly.

As heads of position plate set screws@ are seen only partly in this state, push the thermal head
assembly

so that the screw heads are exposed. Then remove the
position plate set screws and the position plate.
Return the Printer Unit to its original position and remove the CR Motor Timing Pulley. (Follow the
instructions given earlier in this section.)
The CR timing belt can be separated from the Printer Unit. In order to install a new belt, fit the belt
on the motor timing pulley on the left-hand side of the Printer Unit; then fit it on the motor timing
pulley on the right-hand side; and, finally, install the motor timing pulley on the motor shaft. (Refer
to instructions given earlier in this section under "Replacement of the C R Motor" regarding the in-
stallation procedures.)
Again, reverse the Printer Unit, attach the CR timing belt to the Thermal Head Assembly, and set
position plate 1 with the belt suitably held.
Replacement of the CR timing belt is then completed.
