Driving the vehicle

The following procedures should be observed to ensure safe driv-
ing.

Starting the engine (P. 170)

Driving
STEP 1
With the brake pedal depressed, shift the shift lever to "D".
STEP 2
Release the parking brake.
STEP 3
Gradually release the brake pedal and gently push the
accelerator pedal to accelerate the vehicle.

Stopping
STEP 1
With the shift lever in "D", push the brake pedal.
STEP 2
If necessary, set the parking brake.
When the vehicle is stopped for an extended period of time, shift the
shift lever to "P" or "N".

Parking the vehicle
STEP 1
With the shift lever in "D", push the brake pedal.
STEP 2
Set the parking brake.
STEP 3
Shift the shift lever to "P".
When parking on a hill, if necessary, block the wheels.
STEP 4
Press the "ENGINE START STOP" switch to stop the
engine.
STEP 5
Lock the door, making sure that you have the key on your
person.
Starting on a steep incline
STEP 1
Firmly set the parking brake and shift the shift lever to "D".
STEP 2
Gently depress the accelerator pedal.
STEP 3
Release the parking brake.
