he Defrost setting is designed
for even thawing for large
amounts of food and is one of the
most important advantagesof a
microwaveoven.
Power Level 3 is automatically
set for defrosting,but you may
change this for more flexibility.

To become better acquaintedwith
the defrost function, defrost frozen
pork chops by followingthe steps
below.
Step 1: Place package of frozen
chops in the oven and close door.

reads :0 and Power Level 3 is auto-
matically set in the oven but does
not appear on display.ENTER
DEF TIME flashes.

Step 4: TouchSTART.Time counts
down on display.When cycleis
completed, the ovensignals and
automaticallyshutsoff.
Step 5:
Turnpackage over,close
doorandrepeatSteps2,3 and4.
Step 6: When ovensignalsand
shuts off, display will show "End~'
Step 7: Open door or touch
CLEAWOFF pad. Removepackage
and separate chops to finish
defrosting.

Q. Why don'tthe defrosting

times in the Cookbook seem right
for my food?
A. Cookbook times are average.
Defrosting time can vary acco~ding
to the temperature in your freezer.
Set your oven for the time indicated
in your Cookbook. If your food is
still not completely thawed at the
end of that time, reset your oven
and adjust the time accordingly.
Q. Should all foods be
completely thawed before
cooking?
A. Some foods should not be
completely thawed before cooking.
For example, fish cooks so quickly
it is bette~to begin cooking while it
is still slightly frozen.
Q. Can I open the door during
defrosting to check on the
progress bf my food?
