Instructions
This appliancemust be grounded.
In the eventof an electrical short
circuit, grounding reducesthe risk
of electric shock by providingan
escape wire for the electric current.
This appliance is equippedwith a
powercord havinga grounding
wire with a groundingplug. The
plug must be piuggedinto an outlet
that is properly installedand
grounded~(Fig. 1)
WARNING—Improper use of the
groundingplug can result in a risk
of electric shock.

Use of AdapterPlugs

Do not use an adapterplug
in these situationsbecause
disconnectingofthepowercord
placesundue strainon the adapter
and leadsto eventualfailureofthe
adaptergroundterminal. You
shouldhavethe two-prongwall
receptaclereplacedwith a three-
prong (grounding)receptaclebya
qualifiedelectricianbeforeusing
the appliance.
Use of ExtensionCords
Becauseofpotentialsafetyhazards
under certainconditionswe strongly
recommendagainstthe use of an
extensioncord. However,if it is
necessary to use an extensioncord,
use only a 3-wireextensioncord
that has a 3-bladegroundingplug,
and a 3-slotreceptaclethatwill
e
accept the plug on the appliance.
The marked rating ofthe extension
cord shallbe equal to or greater than
the electrical rating ofthe
appliance (15amperes).
Such extensioncords are obtainable
through General Electric service.
H'you do use an extensioncord
with yourmicrowaveoven, the
interior 1ightmay tlicker and the
blower sound mayvary when oven
is in use. Cook and ciefros[times
may be longer as WC1l.
