When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be taken, including the following:
The Cuisinart™ Snow Cone Maker has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way.
This appliance is for 120 volts only and should not be used with a converter.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Operate the ice press in a straight downward motion into the ice chute when crushing ice. Under normal operation, you will hear a consistent grinding of the ice. (Image 1)
Twisting the ice press to the LEFT or RIGHT (instead of straight down) when crushing ice may cause the pusher to come in contact with the blade, resulting in a LOUD CRACKING NOISE. (Image 2)
If this occurs, STOP USE IMMEDIATELY, discard shaved ice from the snow bin and call Cuisinart Customer Service at 1-800-726-0190.
Before performing any cleaning and maintenance operations, please be sure that the toggle switch is in the OFF position and that the unit is unplugged.
Any other servicing should be completed by an authorized service center.
