Generic settings

The Generic settings page contains information about general settings, time settings, network
preferences and the hostname of the device.

In many cases, IP devices such as routers or switches provide NTP by DHCP. Changing the
NTP Address overrides the NTP given by the DHCP.

In order to apply all changes performed in this menu, you need to reboot the device.

Users

The User page displays a list of current users in the system.
From this page, you can

User accounts include a username (4 - 64 characters), a password (8 - 64 characters), and a
user group.
There are two user groups available:

Once the user account is created, you can only modify the password. It is not possible to
change the user group. If the user needs to have a different user group, delete the account
and create a new profile with the new user group assignment.

Define an NTP (Network Time Protocol) server address (where to obtain clock
synchronization). The NTP address can be an IP address or domain name.
Define the IP and DNS settings of the device. By default, both IP and DNS settings are
configured by the DHCP. If you require a static DNS and IP address, clear this check box
and fill in the fields accordingly.

API: grants read/write access to other devices via http or https. Create login credentials
for accessing things like the virtual GPIOs using this group. The user can also access
further services. The API is described on https://<IP_Address>/build/api/index.html.
ADMIN: grants access to configuration and control options in the web interface.
