Insignia 1.5 L Electric Kettle
The kettle may be stored on the base when not in use.

Boil-dry protection

If you try to operate the kettle without water, the boil-dry protection will
automatically turn it off. If this should occur, allow the kettle to cool before
filling with cold water.
Cleaning and maintaining your electric
kettle
Always unplug the power cord and allow the kettle to cool down
completely before cleaning.
Never immerse the kettle, cord, or base in water, or allow moisture to
contact with these parts.

Removing mineral deposits

Mineral deposits commonly found in tap water may cause the kettle
interior to discolor. To remove this build-up, use a non-toxic liquid
descaler.
You can also:
1 Fill the kettle with three cups of white vinegar and the remainder with
water and let it stand overnight. Do not boil.
2 Empty the solution from the kettle. Remove remaining stains with a
damp cloth.
3 Boil two full kettles of water, then discard the water.

Cleaning the outside

Wipe the outside of your electric kettle with a damp cloth or sponge.

Cleaning the filter

Remove the filter periodically and clean it with a damp cloth.

Storing your electric kettle

When not in use, the power cord can be wound around the cord storage
under the base of the kettle.
Note
Make sure that the power cord is unplugged when the kettle is
not in use.
Caution
Do not use chemicals, steel wool, or abrasive cleaners to clean
the outside of the kettle.
