Drill hole in center of opening through ceiling and
layout 14!$" square opening on ceiling for 8" dia.

placed between ioists for extra support and nailed
in place. (See Figs. 11 and 12.) NOTE: If 30'
must be 22%", with 8" dia. pipe; or 24%" with
10" dia. pipe.
NOTE: If BFSL Thimble is used, boxed area will
have to be 17%" sq.

If chimney passes through a floor or ceiling, a fire-
stop spacer must be used. Firestop spacer should be

floor or ceiling that the Triple Wall Pipe passes through,
(See Fig. 13). except uppermost where insulation is
between ioists. Then spacer must be on top of ioists.

Portions of the chimney that may pass through ac-
cessible spaces must be enclosed maintaining 1" mini-
mum clearance to avoid personal contact with or
damage to the chimney.
