PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE USING
BODY TEMPERATURE
Normal body temperature can vary from 97
"Normal" temperature is 98.6

C). Usually your temperature is lower in the morning than in
the afternoon. Normal temperature varies according to the location of the temperature reading. While
the oral temperature follows the guidelines previously described, a rectal temperature is generally 1.0

C) higher. Conversely, an axillary (under the arm) temperature will be 1.0
GENERAL CARE AND USE
BEFORE USE PLEASE NOTE
1. The thermometer should be held during use. The patient should be seated or lying down.
2. TEMPERA TURES SHOULD BE TAKEN UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION.
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS
3. Avoid exposure to temperature extremes, dust, excessive humidity and direct sunlight.
4. Do not soak the thermometer in water or other liquids. Keep parts other than the probe away
from moisture.
5. Do not attempt to sterilize with heat or by boiling.
6. Do not bend or drop the unit. It is not shock proof.
7. Do not allow the unit to come into contact with any thinners or chemical solvents.
8. Do not attempt to disassemble the unit except to replace the battery.
9. Do not bite the main body or sensor unit.
DIRECTIONS FOR CLEANING
Clean the Thermometer probe before and after use by wiping it with soap and water. Rinse with 70%
Isoprophyl Alcohol, then rinse thoroughly in cold water.

Thermometer performance may degrade in the following cases :
(a) Operation/storage outside the specified operating/storage temperature
range respectively.
(b) Mechanical Shock/dropping.
(c) Patient temperature is below ambient temperature.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Ensure that the thermometer has been turned off before taking temperature.
2. The unit is factory set to
o
F. To start the unit in
ON/OFF switch momentorily once. To start the unit in
blue coloured ON/OFF switch for approximately 2 Sec. If you need to go
o
o
back of

C) press and hold the blue coloured ON/OFF switch
for approximately 2 seconds.
3. The following appear in quick sequence.
(a) This is the LCD display test (See Fig. 1). It appears for approximately 2
seconds and indicates all the segments of the LCD are functioning
properly.
(b) If the previous reading is between 89.6
unit will display the last time measured temperature value for about 1
seconds with symbol M (Fig.2.) or the unit display Lo
bol (Fig. 3) for about 1 second after a battery replacement. Followed it
will displays 97.7
o
F for about 1 second without symbol M (Fig. 4)
(c) The unit goes through the internal self checking test procedure. If the
unit is bad it will display "Err" (Fig. 5).
Note : When the temperature is below 50

F), it will display "Err". It will auto power off in 10 seconds.

RECTAL USE
Rectal temperature should only be taken when oral and axillary temperatures are inconvenient. It is
recommended that axillary temperatures be taken on infants. LUBRICA TE WITH LUBRICA TING
JELL Y AND INSERT THE PROBE NO MORE THAN 1/2 INCH INTO RECTUM. Hold thermometer

DISPOSABLE PROBE COVER USE.
1. Insert the thermometer into probe cover. Take care not to push the
thermometer tip through the end of the probe cover.
2. Holding the thermometer and tab of the probe cover as shown, pull
away the covering from longer side.
3. Tilt thermometer to remove cover from shorter side.
4. Dispose off the probe cover after taking temperature.

NOTE : For rectal use, after applying probe cover lubricate thermometer
tip with a water soluble jelly.

Press down on the battery cover and push in the direc-
tion show by the arrow in the illustration.
2. Remove battery with a non-metallic probe.
3. Insert new battery. NOTE : The positive (+) side must face
outward.
4. Replace the cover.
5. Dispose off used battery properly.
NOTE : Inserting battery with reverse polarity may damage
the unit. Dispose off this thermometer properly as per local
regulations. This Digital clinical thermometer is pre-
calibrated and can not be re-calibrated.
