    Tips Poor Picture • Have you selected the correct TV system? • Is your monitor or house aerial located too close to loudspeakers, non-earthed audio equipment or neon lights, etc. ? • Mountains or high buildings can cause double pictures or ghost images. Sometimes you can improve the picture quality by changing the direction of the outside aerial.

    Glossary 100 Hz 100 Hertz provides a superior solution to the problem of picture flicker which is particularly noticeable with larger screen sizes. In a conventional TV, the picture area is scanned 50 times a second (50 Hertz) – a frequency which is still detectable by the human eye in the form of a flickering picture.
