Do this adjustment after the OVU adjustment
in Item. No.7.

This is to enable tapes to be magnetized by
160PWb/mm at the recording level of OVU.
1. With BIAS and EQ Tape Selectors at STD, set
Dolby NR to ON.
2. Apply 333Hzl-10dB to the Input jacks and
connect mV meter to DolbY Ass'Y OUT
terminals (No.15, 16). Adjust Line controls
for - 7.?dB indication.
3. Record 333H2/- 10dB on STD-601 (SONY
C-90HF or equiv.) and adjust VRror, to, fot
-7 .7dB playback level at the Dolby Ass'y OUT
terminals (No.15, 16).
4. Set BIAS and EQ Tape Selectors to Chrome.
Record and playback 333H2/- 10dB on STD-
602A (TDK C-60KR or equiv.). Confirm that
the signal at Dolby Ass'y OUT terminals is
- 7 . 7 1 1 . 5 d B .

This is for the Dolby operation. If this is im-
proper, it will cause low S/N and poor fre-
quency characteristics.
1. Connect mV meter to terminals No.15 and 16
of the Dolby Ass'y.
Set Dolby NR button to ON.
Tum VRa6r, sor (L & R channels) of Dolby
Ass'y to maximum.
While in record mode, apply 5kHz signal to
the Input jacks.
Adjust Input level controls for 4.7dBv indica-
tion on mV meter.
Reduce the Input jack Ievel by 4OdB.
Adjust VRoor, 562 for -34.?dBv indication on
mV meter.
8. Reduce level applied in Step 4 by 30dB.
9. Adjust VRoo,, 5s1 for 26.7dBv indication on
mV meter.
