Before starting / Avant de commencer • The general mechanical assembly is pretty simple. But the assembly must be done with care and fine tuned. The way you will build and maintain your helicopter mechanics will determine the way it will fly and it’s reliability. A good assembly and tuning will allow a smooth and vibration free operation.
Page 6
Mechanics preparation Préparation de la mécanique The mechanics is delivered pre assembled in the scale fuselage. You will need to remove it in order to install your electronics, adjust the linkages and proceed with thread lock and bearing sealant application. Take the time to inspect the model and prepare a small container to put the small parts and screws in.
Page 7
Mechanics preparation Préparation de la mécanique In order to remove the main mechanics, you will need then to remove the screws retaining the mechanics in the fuselage. Do not forget to loose the tail boom support screw to be able to push forward the tail boom assembly to free the belt from the font pulley and then pull out the entire assembly.

Washout & Swashplate The washout is a very important part. All cyclic and pitch inputs are mixed by that part. This is why that part must be built with care and frequently checked. A small natural slope can be identified and shall remain. This allows the washout to operate smoothly especially in winter when cold «retracts»...

Servos supports / Supports de servos The servo support system is composed of a tube plus 2 aluminium parts with 3 arms. These aluminium parts, wich allow to install all kind of mini servos, are secured and locked with M3x3 screws. The fact that these support can rotate and slide up and down on their retaining mast allows a precise setup and alignment of the swashplate linkages.

Tail transmission / Transmission AC This part of the mechanics require a specific care. The helicopter flight performances and controls are directly linked to the tail rotor operation smoothness and precision. Lube the one way bearing in the main pulley. Be sure that the tail rotor gearbox and belt are correctly installed.

Tail gearbox / Anticouple Do not overtighten the screws in order not to «press» the bearings and mast assemblies Do not overtighten the screws, in order not to «press» the bearings and mast assemblies. This could lead to tail malfunction or excessive current draw, early belt wear and difficult tail control (and obviously tail servo prematurate failure).

It is build with 2 frames, linked to the tail boom with a plastic insert. Take the time to perform a clean and proper installation, and don’t forget to put the belt into position before closing the frames, especially around the guiding pulleys right after the plastic insert.

They will be assembled together after installation of the main mechanics in the body of the scale fuselage. It will be easy to setup the servos as their supports can rtoate and slide up and down. This will allow an optimal alignment of the linkages (parrallel to the main shaft) with the swashplate.
