My sander pad went bad and tried to replace and will not function, the screws tighten down when using and lock the sander up

The Makita BO5010 sander pad may malfunction and lock up when the screws are tightened if the tool is operated without the abrasive disc. Running the tool without the disc can seriously damage the pad. Also, excessive force or incorrect installation may affect pad alignment and cause it to lock. Always ensure proper assembly and avoid over-tightening screws.
