Preparations The Volatus 200 is a monaural power amplifier. Each left and right audio channel is operated by a separate amplifier unit in order to achieve the best stereo channel isolation and audio playback. Install Volatus 200 on a rigid and stable platform. A vibration‐free platform will help to extract optimal sonic performance. Connect the Volatus 200 to the mains with an AC power cord. Always use an AC power cord with ground wire. The Volatus 200 must be earthed, both for safety and sonic reasons. To get the best sound quality, make sure that all your Hi‐Fi equipments are operated from one mains socket. To prevent accidental short circuit, connect and secure all audio cable and speaker cable before powering on the amplifier. ...
Operation Turn on the main power switch on the rear panel of the Volatus 200. After turning on the main power switch, the LED on the front panel will glow dim red. This indicates that the Volatus 200 has entered standby mode. Note that in the first few seconds just after power on, the Volatus 200 is starting up and will be on hold. Please be patient. After about 6 seconds, the startup will finish and there will be a very soft click sound. When you hear this, you can press the power button on the front panel to turn the Volatus 200 into operation mode. The green LED illuminates during operation. Now play your favorite music and enjoy. If the power amplifier has not been used for a few days, wait for 15 minutes after power up to get optimum sonic performance. When you finish listening, press the power button once more to toggle the Volatus 200 back into standby. The Volatus 200 consumes very little electricity under standby. Safety and Protection Clipping indicator When playing very loud music, the green LED may flash at the instant of loud passage. This means the audio output power is approaching the amplifier's maximum rating. The flashing green LED is only a reminder for you to turn down the volume control, in order to preserve optimum audio quality. When the volume is down, it will stop flashing. The Volatus 200 will not suffer from any damage even if it is driven to a power level in excess of rated output power. ...
Maintenance The Volatus 200 requires no adjustment and will remain in optimum condition for many years. Cleaning Clean the surface with a piece of soft dry cloth. Do not use any solvent or cleaning agent. Fuse replacement Always replace the supplied fuse with one with the same rating. For 220V AC electricity supply, use 6A delayed fuse. For 110V, use 12A delayed fuse.
