Need help?
Do you have a question about the 5444 and is the answer not in the manual?
Questions and answers
In the top right dial, there is a blinking Light above the "Hands" label. I don't know how to turn it off. The watch hands are frozen at 7:38
To address the blinking light above the "Hands" label and the frozen watch hands at 7:38 on a Casio watch with part number 5444:
1. Frozen Hands at 7:38:
This likely means the hands are not in their correct home position. Strong magnetism or impact can shift the hands. You need to manually return them to the correct position using the "Hand Home Position Adjustment" feature.
2. To Adjust Hand Home Position:
- Hold down the A button until "H.SET" appears in the right digital dial (keep holding even after "ADJ" appears).
- Release the A button when "H.SET" appears.
- The hands should move to the 12 o’clock position, which is their home position.
- If not, adjust them manually using the appropriate buttons (steps vary by model, refer to manual page E-80).
3. Blinking Light Above "Hands" Label:
This may be the auto light switch indicator. To turn off the auto light switch:
- Hold the watch parallel to the ground and tilt it toward you at more than 40 degrees.
- Press and hold the light button (usually C or B) for about 3 seconds to toggle the auto light switch off.
- The indicator should disappear when it is off.
Frequent activation of the auto light can also drain the battery, so turning it off can help conserve power.
