    2) Key and Indicator Functions Receive Error On line Power Enter Clear On line a) Key Functions On line Key On line Selects the operating mode: • On line mode: the printer/host connection is active. • Off line mode: the printer/host connection is inactive and the self-test and configuration menus can be accessed.

    Cleaning the platen and the thermal printhead • Cleaning the magnetic head • Final check The IER Cleaning Kit (IER P/N S32129A) contains all the elements required for efficient printer service. 1) Removing Dust from the Printer Interior CAUTION Before starting any dust removal or printhead cleaning operations, make sure the AC power cord is disconnected from the printer.

If your printer comes with the dual feeder and secured stock compartment, also open the secured stock compartment cover (see Page 12). d) Use the can of compressed gas to remove dust from the mechanical assembly, the sensors, rear feeder(s) and paper path (see the Figure below).

    2) Cleaning the Printhead and the Platen a) Dampen a soft cloth with cleaning solution from the cleaning kit. b) Carefully rub the platen (turn the platen by hand to be able to clean the entire surface). On completion of this operation, dry the platen using the dust remover.
