  • Page 8: Chapter 2: Operating Mode Introduction

    Wireless Travel Router www.cctairmobi.com Chapter 2: Operating Mode Introduction This Wireless Travel Router supports four operation modes including 3G, Router, AP and Repeater. By default, the operation mode is 3G. In 3G mode, it enables Multiple Wi-Fi devices to share Internet via 3G networks. In this mode, the Ethernet port works as a LAN port.

    Setup Wizard With a Web-based utility, it is easy to configure and manage the iTravel Wireless Travel Router. The Web-based utility can be used on any Windows, Macintosh or UNIX OS with a Web browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Apple Safari.

  • Page 22 Wireless Travel Router www.cctairmobi.com Router Mode 1) Choose Router mode, and then click Next. 2) Please choose your Internet connection type, there are three options available: Static IP, DHCP, and PPPoE. a) Select Static IP if your ISP gives you the Static IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and DNS Server Address, type in those information and then click Next.

Router will obtain IP address information automatically. In this case, no need to input anything but click Next. c) PPPoE is typically used for DSL services.

AP Mode 1) Choose AP mode, and then click Next. 2) You can give your wireless network a different name, and we recommend you choose Enable wireless security, and then set up a password, click Next.

After that, the values you selected will be filled in the Access wireless network name (SSID), Security Mode and Encryption Type automatically.

There are main menus on the left of the web-based utility. Submenus will be available after you click one of the main menus. On the right, there are the corresponding explanations and instructions.

    Wireless Travel Router www.cctairmobi.com Please choose the appropriate mode according to your requirement, it support Router, AP, Repeater and 3G mode. Router: In this mode, the device enables multiuser to share Internet via ADSL/Cable Modem. The wireless port share the same IP to ISP through Ethernet WAN port. The Wireless port acts the same as a LAN port while at Router mode.

    Wireless Travel Router www.cctairmobi.com 3G USB Modem: Showing 3G USB Modem's manufacturer when it is identified. Location: Please select the location where you're enjoying the 3G card. Mobile ISP: Please select the ISP (Internet Service Provider) you apply to for 3G service. The Router will show the default Dial Number, APN, Username and Password of that ISP.

Please try to change the wireless channel if you notice interference problems with another nearby access point, or the wireless performance is not as good as you expected. SSID Broadcast: If you choose Enabled, the wireless router will broadcast its name (SSID).

Shared Key: Select 802.11 Shared Key authentications. WEPAUTO: Select Shared Key or Open System authentication type automatically based on the wireless station's capability and request. You can select ASCII or Hex format.

WPA- Personal/ WPA2-Personal: Select WPA-Personal or WPA2-Personal automatically based on the wireless station's capability and request. Encryption: You can select TKIP, AES or TKIP+AES. Password: The password should be between 8 and 63 characters.

Only packets that belong to connections that respond requests from the LAN and for which status database is created can pass the firewall and access to the LAN. By default, the SPI is enabled.

If you select Allow only MAC addresses in the list to access the Web management page, and add MAC addresses to the list, only MAC addresses in the list can access the web management page of the router, while other computers in the LAN are blocked from accessing the router.

After downloading the file, you need to extract the zip file before upgrading the router. Browse for the upgrade file, then click Upgrade button. Caution! MTU Size (byte): The default MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) value is 1500 Bytes. Sometimes you need to modify the MTU required by your ISP. Manually configure the DNS server: Check this potion if your ISP gives you one or two DNS IP addresses.
