    Congratulations on purchasing our Salton Elite Cordless Kettle. Each unit is manufactured to ensure safety and reliability. Before using this appliance for the first time, please read the instruction manual carefully and keep it for future reference.      Connect the plug into a power outlet. Press down the On/Off switch, the indicator will light up. Then the kettle will start to boil the water, once the water has being boiled the On/Off switch will be off automatically. You can shut off the power by lifting the On/Off switch at any moment during boiling water.
  • Page 5 9. In hard water areas, it is necessary to remove scale, and water deposit markings in the kettle as this can cause premature operation of the boil dry switch. There are various kettle cleaners/kettle descalers which remove scale, and markings, available from supermarkets, chemists, and other stores.

     Water has a plastic taste Generally this only occurs on the first use, and is not a problem if the water boiled on the initial use is discarded as recommended in the section ‘Before First Use’. If the problem persists, fill the kettle to the MAX level, and add 2 teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda.
