    Getting Started Charging the Battery The tablet has a built-in rechargeable Li-polymer battery. To charge, plug the AC power adapter into the micro USB port and plug the other end into a power source. The tablet can still be used while the battery is charging. Power ON/OFF Press and hold the power button until the tablet turns on.

    The Start Screen Touch the white Start menu icon next to the screen to visit the Start screen. You can also swipe in from the right edge of the screen and choose Start. Press any tile on the Start screen to start an app. Some apps require you to create or log into a Microsoft account before they will work.

    Getting Around To return to your previous app, swipe in from the left edge of the screen. To see a list of all open apps, swipe in from the left edge, keep your finger on the screen, and slide your finger back toward the left edge.

    Apps To see all your apps, go to the Start screen and slide your finger up. To place one of these apps on the Start screen, press and hold the icon for about one second. Choose Pin to Start. To remove an app from the Start screen, press and hold the icon for about one second. Choose Unpin from Start.

    Charm Menu Swipe in from the right edge of the screen to see the five charm icons: Search, Share, Start, Devices, and Settings. Search the web and the tablet. Share something via email or a social network. Return to the Start screen. If you are already on the Start screen, this icon returns you to the last app you used.

    Using Two Apps at Once To open two apps on the screen at the same time, first open one app. Then swipe in from the left edge, keep your finger on the screen, and slide your finger back toward the left edge to see a list of all open apps. Drag the app you want from the list, and drop it to the left or right side of the current app.
