Direct phone connection
In order to record calls directly from your phone
line, your TelRecorder connection box must be
located between your incoming landline and your
telephone, as follows:
1. Disconnect the line cable coming out of your
phone jack, and connect it to the TelRecorder
connection box (Tel – RJ11 jack).
2. Connect the cable provided in the kit between
the TelRecorder connection box and the
phone.
Your setup should look like this:
Make sure that the Recording Selection button is pressed in the direction of TEL (= telephone).
Connecting TelRecorder to your telephone's receiver cord
Digital switchboards use digital data transmission, which makes it impossible to record directly
from the telephone line. To solve this:
1. Remove the headset (curly) wire coming
out of your phone receiver, and connect it to
the TelRecorder connection box (HS jack -
RJ9 on the connection box).
2. Take one end of the cable supplied in the
kit (RJ11 plug), and connect it to the Tel
socket on your TelRecorder connection box.
3. Connect the cable's other end to the phone
jack from which you removed the curly
headset wire.
4. Ascertain that the Recording Selection button is pressed in the direction of TEL.
Note: When TelRecorder is connected in this way, the headset must be lifted for recording
to take place (calls cannot be recorded if they are conducted via a phone speaker).
