UTPUT ONNECTIONS The Suite 8100 features class-D digital amplification which is designed to run cool and remain stable to support 2 Ohm loads per zone. Each zone has a removable screw terminal connec- tor for attaching the home-run speaker cables. In order to assure the best possible sound, make certain to maintain polarity by placing + to the + lead on both the left and right speakers and - to -.

ADA Bus connector included with your system. It should be plugged into the Suite 8100 and the far left ADA Bus port on the Control Suite (when looking at the back of the Control Suite). The additional ADA Bus ports can be used to connect additional ADA tuners, the iHome Multi- Center, the iBase iPod docking station, or other ADA Bus devices or components.

The Suite 8100 features input tracking low voltage triggers that output DC voltage when a source is in use. The rear of the Suite 8100 features a 9-pin “D” style connectors (non-RS- 232) where one pin is a common ground and then eight other pins correspond to inputs 1-8.

In addition, there is an iHome Multi-Center hard drive server and Duo Tuner (addi- tional two radio tuners). Note that if all ADA Bus length were to equal 3’, the total distance of ADA Bus wire (12’) behind the rack would not exceed the suggested maximum length of 15’...

ADA B AKING From time to time, it may be necessary to make ADA Bus wires to custom length. As you determine how many wires you will need, keep the wire length as short as possible and do not exceed 15 total feet. If actual ADA Bus cable is not available, use a heavy gauge speaker cable.

RJ-45 Cat. 5 Cable Connector If you need to connect additional ADA key- pads (more than 8), ADA suggests using the WH-4000 instead of the WH-2000 or the wire harness in the Control Suite. If you are using a Control Suite, order an additional WH-4000 and connect all keypads to it.

REASON - When a keypad issues a transport command, the RS-232 code for the IRL is sent down the ADA Bus to the IRL so that it can then issue the source’s IR command. If repeating is on, the keypad’s command first emits through the IR flasher. If the source component’s IR receiver is slow to cool down (so that it can take the next IR command), when the IRL releases the actual command (a moment later), the source component’s IR receiver may reject it.

This is why creating the proper folder structure is so important prior to mapping IR commands. 6 Several ADA keypads feature a display that can confirm an IR based transport function by name (i.e. PLAY). In the top of the window, type in a word that describes the IR code/function.
