    GETTING STARTED KEY FOB Locking And Unlocking The Doors • Press and release the UNLOCK button on the RKE transmitter once to unlock the driver’s door (EVIC can be setup for driver door first, otherwise this will unlock all doors), or press the unlock button twice within five seconds to unlock all doors.

    GETTING STARTED WARNING! • Never leave children alone in a vehicle, or with access to an unlocked vehicle. Allowing children to be in a vehicle unattended is dangerous for a number of reasons. A child or others could be severely injured or killed. Children should be warned not to touch the parking brake, brake pedal, or the shift lever.
  • Page 12 GETTING STARTED To Unlock From The Driver or Passenger Side: • With a valid Keyless Enter-N-Go™ Key Fob located outside the vehicle and within 5 ft (1.5 m) of the driver or passenger side door handle, grab either front door handle to unlock the door automatically.
  • Page 13 GETTING STARTED • After pressing the Keyless Enter-N-Go™ LOCK button, you must wait 2 seconds before you can lock or unlock the vehicle using the door handle. This is done to allow you to check if the vehicle is locked by pulling the door handle, without the vehicle reacting and unlocking.

    GETTING STARTED • A belt that is too loose will not protect you properly. In a sudden stop you could move too far forward, increasing the possibility of injury. Wear your seat belt snugly. • A frayed or torn belt could rip apart in a collision and leave you with no protection. Inspect the belt system periodically, checking for cuts, frays, or loose parts.

    GETTING STARTED WARNING! • Relying on the air bags alone could lead to more severe injuries in a collision. The air bags work with your seat belt to restrain you properly. In some collisions, the air bags won't deploy at all. Always wear your seat belts even though you have air bags. •...
  • Page 18 GETTING STARTED • Never install LATCH-compatible child seats such that two seats share a common lower anchorage. • The rear seat lower anchorages are round bars, located at the rear of the seat cush- ion where it meets the seatback. They are just visible when you lean into the rear seat to install the child restraint.

    GETTING STARTED • Attach the tether strap hook of the child restraint to the anchor and remove slack in the tether strap according to the child restraint manufacturer’s instructions. WARNING! • In a collision, an unrestrained child, even a tiny baby, can become a projectile inside the vehicle.

Then, using body pressure, move forward and backward on the seat to be sure that the seat adjusters have latched.

    WHAT TO DO IN EMERGENCIES Vehicles Not Equipped With Keyless Enter-N-Go™ 1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON/RUN position (Do not start the engine). 2. Fully depress the accelerator pedal, slowly, three times within 10 seconds. 3. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF/LOCK position. NOTE: If the indicator message illuminates when you start the vehicle, the oil change indicator system did not reset.

    WHAT TO DO IN EMERGENCIES CAUTION! Driving with a hot cooling system could damage your vehicle. If the temperature gauge reads HOT (H), pull over and stop the vehicle. Idle the vehicle with the air conditioner turned off until the pointer drops back into the normal range. If the pointer remains on HOT (H), and you hear continuous chimes, turn the engine off immediately, and call for service.
