You should use this camera to format a new memory card, or a memory card
that has been used with other devices, before using it. Formatting
(initializing) a memory card erases all data on the memory card. As you
cannot retrieve the erased data, exercise adequate caution before formatting
the memory card.

Select [Format].
Press the
MENU
button and select the
fT
tab, then select [Format] and press the
@
button.
Format the memory card.
Press the
~ ~
buttons or turn the
@
dial
to select [OK], then press the
@
button.
The memory card will be formatted.
When formatting has finished, the screen
will return to the menu display.
Low Level Format
Perform
low level formatting when you think that the recording/reading
speed of a memory card has dropped.
