To fix a dead battery in a MindPlace Kasina that won't charge, follow these steps:
1. Reset the Connection: - Unplug the USB cable from the Kasina. - Leave it disconnected for 15 seconds while keeping the other end connected to the power source. - Plug the USB cable back into the Kasina. - Quickly press the power button.
2. Check Charging Status: - Observe the battery icon. It should show a "filling" animation until it turns solid green. - While charging, check the Settings/Service menu for values like battery voltage and charge current.
3. Check the Charger and Cable: - If charging is very slow or not working, test with a different USB cable. - If the cable is fine, try using a different USB charger. A charger with at least 5V/1A is recommended.
4. Firmware Update: - Once the device is fully charged, update the firmware to the latest version.
If the Kasina still does not charge or hold a charge, the battery may need replacement.
