    MGVC 1280 !!!!!! The MGVC 1280 must be set to the same output resolution and frame rate as the computer or genlock device that is connected to INPUT 8.
  • Page 5: 1.2 Quick Reference

    For SCART operation you will need an adapter as described in the pinout section page 10. The MGVC 1280 can detect sync on green and sync on Y. No V-sync connection is required in that case.

    - 6 - Factory default: SYNC OUTPUT SEPERATE - Time Base Corrector The integrated Time Base Corrector avoids unsynchronized distorted images of VHS tape recorders or any other unstable video source. It is a true one field TBC and will solve many synchronization problems occurring with digital video projectors and especially the new LC-or TFT-Displays, which require a very stable sync signal for proper operation.

    NR DEMO and Noise Reduction The MGVC 1280 offers a very effective digital noise filter. It removes noise of low quality signals like VHS tapes or analog reception of broadcast signals.

    Horiz. Zoom and Vertical Zoom The MGVC 1280 offers a certain percentage of zoom both in vertical and horizontal direction. Together with the shift function it is a powerful tool to zoom in the active picture area for magnification.

    Adjustments for Inputs 6 and 7 for the MGVC 1280 The MGVC 1280 offers the scaling of inputs 6 and 7 to the desired output format and frame rate. The selected ouput resolution in the OUTPUT GROUP menu must have the same value of the input signal applied at input 8 or any of the available options in the free run mode.

    For seamless operation you must first connect the graphic source or genlock signal (RGBHV format) at input 8. Then adjust the output resolution of the MGVC 1280 while any of INPUT 1-5 is active to the resolution of the applied genlock signal at input 8. Possible settinges are SVGA, XGA and SXGA at 50,60 or 75/100Hz.

    - 11 - Example for Seamless Switching between Genlock input 8 and Video Assuming you want to switch/dissolve between a video input (1-5) and a 1024 x 768/60 Hz computer image, following steps are requried. First select an output resolution according to the resolution of your computer device which is connected at Input 8, in this expample we assumed 1024 x 768/60 Hz.

    The activation can improve this. SW-Download SELECT see chapter 11, Firmware UPDATE Communication The Vigatec scalers may be adjusted to 9600, 19200 and 38400 baud for the serial interface.     7.11 Recovery start from internal ROM The Vigatec scalers have a factory programmed EPROM and a user writable FLASH memory that stores the new version if upgrades have been performed. In case something went wrong with the Firmware upgrade you may start the unit from the factory EPROM. Press SELECT button while powering ON.

    Flow control = None After confirming the menu you are connected. Switch ON the MGVC 1280. The unit returns status information which should be displayed in the window. Any time you hit a button a status information is returned by the unit and displayed in the window.

SW Download Select Push SELECT then keep the UP or DOWN button pressed for 3 seconds. The unit will display ERASING CHIP and then SOFTWAREDOWNLOAD-READY.
