VI. Hardware Connection

1. Make sure your computer is operational.
2. Connect the power cord. (Now the LED indicator is off)
3. Connect the enclosure to the computer with USB 3.0 cable. Now the LED activity indicator is on,
and the hard disk starts spinning up. Connecting to a USB2.0 host port will work but yields lower
performance.
4. Then, system will recognize and install the hard disk drive automatically.
ATTENTION:
Before you can access and use the hard disk drive from "My Computer" or
"Windows Explorer" the drive needs to be formatted!!! If you are not familiar doing this, we included
several step-by-step guides to the CD. The instructions are provided as PDF documents on the CD.
"Acrobat Reader" from Adobe is needed to open and view them. This tool is available as free
download on www.adobe.com.
