Operating the AVT-3400 Operating the AVT-3400 is intuitive and easily learned. The operation at the unit itself is accomplished via the buttons mounted within the case. Although easily learned due the clear labeling of the functions, operating the unit via these buttons is also a rather limited way to operate the unit because all functions are not available from these buttons.

Once there, press the Select Button to indicate to the AVT-3400’s microprocessor that you wish to change or adjust the function you have highlighted. You then use the Left and Right arrow buttons to actually make the adjustment.

Selecting the ‘Picture’ Function: By selecting ‘Picture’, you can make several adjustments to the picture being sent to your monitor. Use the Up and Down arrow buttons to move to the Menu item called ‘Picture’ and then press the Select button.

Selecting the TV Function: The ‘TV Function’ covers the set up parameters governing the way the AVT-3400’s tuner works. Using the procedure explained above, navigate to the TV Function item and press the Select Button which will cause another, secondary menu to appear as shown below.

Selecting the OSD Function: OSD means On Screen Display and this function allows you to set the screen position and color of the text messages that are displayed by the AVT-3400. The procedure is a bit different this time. The...

MTS Button: This button allows the selection of the Second Language Audio Channel (if it is present) and also it forces the AVT-3400 to provide audio in either the Mono or Stereo format. It’s a toggle button meaning it first goes to Mono when pressed and if pressed again, it goes next to Stereo operation.

SLEEP Button: This button enables an automatic shutdown of the AVT-3400. When pressed, a display will appear on the screen showing the amount of delay before the unit turns off. Press the sleep button until the time you want is highlighted.
Determine that the AC outlet into which you have plugged the AC adapter is furnishing power properly and also make certain that all connections, including the DC power lead from the AC adapter are fully plugged in to the AVT-3400. Check that the devices connected to the AVT-3400 are performing properly before you assume that the AVT-3400 is at fault.
