Battery Details Page_3 The dev ce s suppl ed w th 4 p eces of AA Alkal ne batter es. To remove the battery compartment cover, press on the latch and pull out. Insert the batter es observ ng correct polar ty of + (plus) and - (m nus). The dev ce can be used for approx mately 25-30 hours when the batter es are fully charged.
Display Page_4 Menu prov d ng access to all sett ngs of the dev ce. Target ID and color scale. Cursor nd cat ng the ID of the detected target and ts pos t on on the color scale. It s d splayed by tself when the target s gnal s weak and n a black box when the s gnal s strong.
Quick Guide Page_6 Assemble the dev ce as per the nstruct ons on page 1. Insert the batter es by pay ng attent on to +/- polar ty. Rotate the on/off sw tch located beh nd the dev ce clockw se to turn on the dev ce.
MODE opt on w thout wa t ng. MODE 4 search modes adapted to d fferent ground cond t ons and target types are offered by RACER. Names of the search modes are def ned as All Metal, Two Tone, Three Tone and Beach on the menu screen.

Menu Page_8 ID F lter cannot be used n the All Metal mode. It s pre-set for the Two Tone, Three Tone and Beach modes. You can adjust the ID F lter manually accord ng to your personal preferences. See TARGET ID and ID FILTER sect on for further nformat on (page 17-18).
Menu Page_9 BACKLIGHT It enables you to adjust the keypad and d splay backl ght level accord ng to your personal preferences. It ranges between 00-05. Backl ght sett ng s restored to the f nal sett ng when the dev ce s turned off and on aga n.
MODES Page_10 All Metal It s the deepest mode of the dev ce. D fferent than the other modes, th s mode features a threshold tone wh ch s cont nuously heard n the background. The dev ce does not d scr m nate targets wh le n the All Metal mode and detects all targets (metal, m neral zed rocks etc.).
Page 14
Beach Mode It s the spec al mode of RACER developed for conduct ve grounds (wet sand beach, grounds w th alkal so l etc.). The feature of th s mode s ts ab l ty to gnore ron and s m lar targets n th s group and to perform ground balance on any type of ground.
Ground Balance Page_12 Ground balance can be performed n three ways n RACER: Automat c, Manual and TRACKING. If the tr gger s pushed forward wh le perform ng automat c or manual ground balance, the dev ce w ll sw tch to the All Metal mode automat cally on the background w thout any nd cat on to the user, regardless of the selected search mode.
Page 16
RACER s des gned to allow for automat c ground balanc ng conven ently on any type of ground. Therefore, t s recommended to perform automat c ground balance upon start up. However, the ground may not be su table for automat c ground balanc ng n some cases and the dev ce cannot ground balance on such grounds (Except for the beach mode).
Page 17
Ground Balance Page_14 The dev ce w ll return to the ma n screen automat cally after a moment upon complet on of ground balance. To return mmed ately, just pull and release the tr gger once. IMPORTANT! Exper enced detector sts adjust the ground balance sett ng to l ttle pos t ve response (weak but aud ble sound s produced when mov ng the search co l closer to ground).

Some typ cal ground types are as follows: 0-25 Wet salt water or wet alkal so ls 25-50 Wet salt water and wet alkal so ls covered w th dry layers 50-70 Regular, low-qual ty so ls 70-90...
Gain and Threshold Page_16 Adjustment of these two sett ngs s cr t cal for a no se-free and h gh performance operat on of the dev ce. It s poss ble to obta n an average performance w th the default sett ngs. However, these sett ngs need to be adjusted n order to perform deeper searches as ground and surround ng cond t ons allow or to perform search under challeng ng cond t ons.
Target ID and ID Filtering Page_17 As expla ned before, target ID s a 2 d g t number def n ng the target, produced by the metal detector wh le the search co l goes over a target The number s shown on the d splay as TARGET ID. In some cases, the dev ce may produce mult ple IDs for the same target.

P npo nt s to f nd the center or the exact locat on of a detected target. RACER s a mot on detector, n other words, you are requ red to move the search co l over the target or the target over the search co l n order for the dev ce to detect the target. The p npo nt mode s a non-mot on mode.
Swinging Speed and Target Identification RACER s a detector w th very h gh detect ng speed. When you detect a target w th RACER, you should make w der passes nstead of narrow ng the sweeps and mak ng qu ck sweeps over the target l ke n other metal detectors, n order to rece ve an accurate ID from the target.
Sayfa_21 Page_21 Magnetic Mineralization Indicator The Magnet c M neral zat on Ind cator cons sts of 8 levels. The nd cator s shown empty at low m neral levels dur ng search and at start up. In areas where the magnet c m neral level s h gh, the nd cator level ncreases accord ng to the ntens ty.
Metals Under Rocks RACER ncreases the poss b l ty of detect ng metal targets under m neral zed rocks through the proper adjustment of your sett ngs. The comb ned e ect created by the rock and metal together s lower than the e ect that the metal creates by tself and the d splayed ID w ll be d erent than the metal's expected ID.
As expla ned before, salt water and alkal grounds are s gn f cantly conduct ve and cause e ects s m lar to ron n detectors. RACER’s Beach mode s spec ally des gned for such cond t ons. You can perform your search eas ly us ng the Beach mode w thout requ r ng any spec al sett ngs.
Messages Page_24 Warn ng messages are shown on the bottom of the d splay dur ng search. Messages that may appear are as follows: Saturation It appears on the d splay s multaneously w th the saturat on alarm sound ng l ke a s ren. Th s happens when the search co l encounters a near surface or a very large object.
