    Using your slow cooker Ensure you have read the ‘Preparing your slow cooker’ instructions on page 8. Note: During use the glass lid and ceramic cooking pot will get very hot. Always handle with extreme care using oven gloves, until the unit has cooled down sufficiently.

The most effective setting depends on the food you are cooking and the cooking time you require. Low: The low setting gently simmers the food for an extended period of time. You should not need to stir the food if you select this setting.

    Cooking tips • The slow cooker must be at least half full for best results. • If cooking soups, leave 5 cm space between the top of the cook pot and the food surface to allow for simmering. • All food should be covered with a liquid, gravy or sauce. In a separate pan or jug, prepare your liquid, gravy or sauce and completely cover the food in the ceramic cooking pot.
