4 LEVELS When large input gain is used, (i.e. the input signal level is very low) the LS50 can amplify the sound level of the recorded file effectively, thanks to the quality of the preamplifiers. However, larger input gain increases the background noise simultaneously, which will affect the overall recording quality.
5 AUTOMATIC GAIN CONTROL (AGC) The AGC will adjust gain automatically according to the volume of sound source. If the volume of sound is weak, AGC increases the gain automatically. When the volume of sound is loud, AGC reduces gain so that recording level will not exceed limits, to avoid distortion. 1.
6 CHANGE RECORDING FORMAT The LS50 supports, PCM and MP3 file recording formats. PCM is 48 KHz 16 bit WAV lossless stereo. PCM format files are larger, but have higher fidelity. MP3 format file has good recording quality, yet smaller capacity; they can be copied to other players at any time.
Page 26
The file format, sampling rates and bit rates of different recording formats are as follows: RECORDING FILE FORMAT FORMAT PCM ST Stereo WAV-16bit 48KHz 1536Kbps PCM MO Mono WAV-16bit 48KHz 768Kbps HQ ST Stereo 48KHz 320Kbps MQ ST Stereo 48KHz 256Kbps LQ ST Stereo...

8 VOLUME OPERATED RECORDING (VOR) By monitoring the input sound level, the LS50 can switch to record mode automatically. The LS50 stops recording automatically when sound level drops below a certain pre-set level. When the sound level increases again, it restarts recording.
Page 29
7. VOR stop recording . If sound volume is lower than the pre-set level for 10 seconds, recording will stop and the LS50 returns to PAUSE RECORDING so that you can save disk space and reduce empty file content. ■...
