Wrong
connection
makes
the
speakers
of a
stereo
system
operate
"out
of
phase,"
with
a
resulting loss
in
bass
response
and
stereo
effect.

ADJUSTMENT
OF LEVEL
CONTROLS
The
CS-R500
is
equipped
with
continuous
level
controls
for
the
MID
and HIGH
sound
ranges.
To
adjust
these,
first
set
the tone controls on the
ampli-
fier to
their
center
("flat")
positions and
turn
high
and
low
noise
filters
off.
Then
play
a
familiar
tape
or
record and
adjust
the two
level
controls on
the
speakers so
that
you
obtain
the
most
pleasing sound.
Rotation
toward MIN
decreases
response
in
the
particular sound
range,
rotation toward
MAX
in-
creases
it.
