2. Protection against insects
The United States Center for Disease Control recommends the use of mosquito netting over infant carriers when you
are outdoors with infants. Mosquitoes have been known to transmit the West Nile virus and other blood born diseases
such as malaria. Other insects such as black flies can be an irritant and cause painful bites.
The body of the Infant Carrier Cover is comprised of fine insect netting to help repel insects. In order to achieve
protection against insects, the elastic perimeter of the Infant Carrier Cover must be snug against the infant car seat
and the zipper ceiling must be closed. Any spaces in between the elastic perimeter and the seating device may
permit insects to enter the cover. To optimize protection against insects, use your Infant Carrier Cover in combination
with other insect repelling measures.
