getting to know your reel Reel Seat Power Trigger Drag Adjustment Knob Line Clip Spool E-Z Cast Bail Lever Battery Cover Bail Arm Selective Anti-Reverse Switch Handle Always leave in the “on” position Your PowerFish’n reel is for close-to-the- surface fishing. Use in a boat or on the shore by the water.
INSTALLING BATTERIES Your PowerFish’n reel uses 4 AA batteries. For standard batteries, always use Alkaline which yield 16 – 20 hours of use. We recommend Ni-MH (Nickel Metal Hydride) rechargeable batteries which provide higher torque and up to 80 hours of use. Never use Lithium batteries as they may cause fire. IMPORTANT: Always remove batteries after each use to avoid damage.

SETTING THE DRAG NOTE: The selective anti-reverse switch on the bottom of the reel must always be in the “on” position. The drag knob sets the spool tension, which allows a fish to pull out the line under tension. Turning the drag knob clockwise increases tension, while rotating it counter clockwise decreases tension.

USING YOUR REEL 1. Hold rod with reel under rod. Placing your thumb along the top of the rod aids in casting and control accuracy. 2. Pick up the line with the tip of your index finger. 3. Open the bail wire using the E-Z Cast bail lever or with a light downward movement until it is in the position shown for casting.
POWER TRIGGER To activate your reel’s power assist feature, press the power trigger. As long as the power trigger is being pressed, the reel will automatically windup the line. When you release the power trigger, the reel will stop. The fish can be played using the power trigger or by using the hand crank to reel in the excess line when the fish comes towards you.

CARE & LUBRICATION Your new PowerFish’n reel is designed to provide years of dependable service, but as with all precision instruments, some care is required. Periodically use a light machine oil to lubricate the line roller, the main shaft where it comes out of the reel, and all moving parts of the bail and handle.
