Use the checklist below as a guideline for encoding your content in REDCINE-X PRO. REDCINE-X PRO and the RRencode Plugin provide many features and offer multiple ways to perform tasks to fit different workflows. RED recommends that you explore and experiment with REDCINE-X PRO and RRencode to determine the most appropriate workflow for your projects.
NOTE: If you are going to add multiple clips to the Timeline and encode those clips into a single clip, skip this procedure; you will have the option to select a new name when you encode your clips. If you want to rename the clip so that a different name displays in the REDRAY on-screen display, follow the instructions below: 1.
CONFIGURE STILL SEQUENCE EDITOR SETTINGS In REDCINE-X PRO, you can select the color space, gamut, and frame rate for the source file. RRencode uses the source color space, gamma, and frame rate settings to map the source video properly into the .RED file format.
This section explains how to sync your audio track to a specific frame in the video clip. 1. Drag the video clip from the Bin panel to the Viewer. 2. Expand the REDRAY panel and view the Audio and Playback Channels panels to verify that the external au- dio is attached.

A preset is a group of encoding settings. When you download the RRencode Plugin, the plugin loads a default preset called REDRAY BASE into REDCINE-X PRO. You can use this default preset to encode content, or create your own preset and customize settings.
Page 55
NOTE: If you are encoding content that will be used for digital signage applications and that has audio, RED recommends that you select the Uncompressed Audio check box. NOTE: If you are encoding content that will be used with the Loopback setting enabled, RED recom- mends that you select the Uncompressed Audio check box.
