The Scanner Scanner Home Page Navigating the Scanner The power on and off button is located on the top right of the handheld. The orange button in the center and two black buttons on the sides of the Scan- ner will activate the bar code reader.
The Scanner Scanner Home Page Charging the Scanner The battery icon on the Scanner home page indicates the amount of battery charge available. When fully charged, the scanner will operate for eight hours. If the battery is charged less than 25 percent, return the scanner to the cradle. If you run out of battery power, the information on your scanner will be erased.

The Scanner Ordering Navigating the Ordering Screen Tap Ordering on the Scan Genius menu. Ordering displays the suppliers you have loaded onto the scanner. If you have scanned your order, the total cost of the order is displayed (B).

The Scanner Ordering Vendor Tap a supplier to highlight. Tap Vendor (A). The supplier information screen displays contact information for that supplier. Minimum order information and the current order number are also displayed. To view the previous or next supplier on your list, tap the arrows (B).

The Scanner Ordering Stocked To check for items that are stocked but were not scanned, highlight the supplier and tap Stocked (A). If the supplier has categories, a list of categories will appear (B). Tap a category to view the items stocked but not scanned in that category.
The Scanner Ordering List Items Highlight a supplier. Tap List Item s to display all the items ordered for that supplier. The quantity ordered is displayed next to the item (B). To highlight any item, tap the product name. The number of the item highlighted and the total number of items ordered is shown on the bottom right of the screen (C).

The arrow next to the pack size indicates that the product is carried by both distributors.

The Scanner Scan Now Delete To delete an item from the Scan screen, tap Del (A). Tap Yes in the confirmation box. While scanning, you may create a list of shelf tags or add to the list you have scanned.

The Scanner Shelf Tags Scanning for Shelf Tags To scan for tags with the shelf tag function, tap Shelf Tags on the Scan Genius menu to open the Shelf Tags screen (B). Begin scanning. Note: Scan the products for shelf tags in the order you want them to appear at the shelf.

The Scanner Inventory Scanning for Inventory Scan Genius provides a fast and efficient way to perform inventory in the store. Place the scanner into Inventory mode by tapping on the Inventory button (A). This screen is very similar to shelf tags with the difference being the option to record a quantity (B).

The Scanner Inventory Log onto My Genius Central Go to www.mygeniuscentral.com and log in. Go to “Inventory Uploads” under the “Orders” tab. If you do not have an account to My Genius Central, contact support at 800-360-2231. Sign up is free.
The Scanner Inventory Adjust the Vendor If you need to change the vendor association of a product you can do this with the “Vendor” drop down menu on the right. You should only need to change distrib- uted items, the system will automatically match up items with direct manufactures.

The Scanner Edit Shelf Data Editing Products not on the Scanner You can also scan to edit shelf data even if the product catalog is not on your scanner. When you scan, the UPC number will appear but the retail price will not. Enter the new data.
