OPERATION

Driving Through Water

Your vehicle can drive through
shallow water. Make sure the
water is no deeper than the floor
of the vehicle. Follow these
precautions when driving
through water:
1. Check water depth. Never
drive through water that is
deeper than the floor level.
2. After driving through water,
test the brakes. Apply them
lightly several times while
driving slowly. The friction
will help dry out the pads.
NOTICE: Major engine damage can result if the vehicle is not thoroughly
inspected after operation in water. Perform the services outlined in the
maintenance chart. See page 53. Give special attention to engine oil,
transmission oil and all grease fittings.
If your vehicle is operated in water deeper than the floor level, take it
to your dealer for service before starting the engine. If it's impossible
to bring the vehicle to your dealer before starting the engine, perform
the service outlined on page 79, and take the vehicle to your dealer as
soon as possible.
