Notes on the AC power adaptor
• To prevent battery leakage, we recommend
removing the batteries when the receiver is
connected to a wall outlet.

• When the AC power adaptor is not to be used

for a long period of time, unplug it both from
the DC IN 3V jack and from the wall outlet.
LW/MW/SW
• Use only the recommended Sony AC power

adaptor (not supplied)*. Do not use any other

Operating the Radio

Set POWER to ON to turn on the radio.

Select a desired band using BAND.

Tune in a station using TUNING.
The TUNE indicator lights up when a
station is tuned in.

Adjust the volume using VOLUME.
To turn off the radio
Set POWER to OFF.
To listen with headphones (not
supplied)
For FM stereo, connect the stereo headphones to
the 2 (headphones) jack.
The speaker is deactivated when you connect the
headphones.
To improve reception (See fig. B)
FM: Extend the telescopic antenna and adjust the
angle for optimum reception.
SW: Extend the telescopic antenna vertically.
MW/LW: Rotate the unit horizontally for
optimum reception. A ferrite bar
antenna is built into the unit.
