If the door of the Criterion CMh16G1B microwave won't latch shut, follow these troubleshooting steps:

1. Check for Obstructions: Ensure no food particles, dirt, or debris are on the surfaces where the door and oven meet. Clean with a mild, nonabrasive soap using a sponge or soft cloth.

2. Inspect the Door Lock System: Make sure the door is aligned and properly closed. The microwave will not operate if the door is not securely shut.

3. Verify Proper Closure: Try opening and closing the door firmly but gently to see if it latches.

If the issue continues, service may be needed.
