For pipe-mounting clamps for 1½" and 2" are available.
The pole mounting luminaire (e 152 .. PM) comprises a metallic supporting tube acc. to DIN 49778 that is
located inside the housing of the luminaire. Such tube serves for mounting the lighting fitting to a pole
outreach.
6. Installation and Commissioning
Attention: The installation of explosion-proof explosion-proof light fittings must be done by skilled
electricians only. They must be well trained with regard to operating explosion-proof products !
Please pay attention to the application of this lighting fitting in dusty atmospheres:
The application of this luminaire is depending on the properties of the surrounding dust.
The maximum admissible surface temperature of the lighting fitting
- must be lower than 2/3 of the ignition temperature of the surrounding dust/air mixture and
- must be 75 K below the glow temperature of the dust that is lying on the light fitting.
(Please pay attention to the Standards EN 50281-1-2 to be considered for the installation of electrical
apparatus in areas with combustible dust.)
6.1 How to open and to prepare the light fitting
- use the triangular socket M6 for turning the
triangular bolt at the locking side of the
light fitting in direction of the arrow "Open".
- open the diffuser, push back the retaining
spring of the reflector and open the reflector.
- remove the mounting parts and the glands from
the plastic bag inside the light fitting
- screw the explosion-proof cable gland into
the borings at the front side of the housing and
fasten securely. Cable gland M25x1.5 with a
torque of 3 Nm an cable gland M20x1.5 with a
torque of 2.3 Nm.
Attention: Any cable entries not required for electrical wiring must be closed by means of a stopping plug
In the explosion-proof cable gland or by an explosion-proof locking screw !

Attention: The luminaires for an ambient temperature of +60 °C require explosion-proof cable glands
heat resistance of which is +75 °C min.!
For application in high humidity we would recommend a special explosion-proof breathing gland which is
quite effective against penetration of humidity into the light fitting. Such breathing gland is installed into an
opening that is not required for mounting any cable gland.
Attention: A breathing gland is allowed to be used in gas atmospheres only and at ambient temperatures
which are not higher than +55°C!
When using a breathing gland the ingress protection of the light fitting is IP 54 !

6.2 Electrical connection
- insert the connection cable through the Ex-cable gland.
Attention: The diameter of the connection cable must correspond to the sealing range of the Ex-cable
gland!
- remove the protecting cover from the connection terminal

- connect the conductors to the right terminals as per
marking on the terminal block and tighten the screws.
Even tighten the screws which are not required.
Tighten all screws with a torque of 1,2 Nm.
Attention: 2 conductors max. are allowed to be
connected to each terminal.
Their cross sections must be equal.
- put the protecting cover back onto the connection
terminal block.
Standard wiring:
Through wiring system:
The light fitting can be built factory-made with a through wiring system for 6 poles max.. Cross-sections up
to a max. of 6 mm² for a current of 20 A are possible.
Attention: A through wiring system in explosion-proof luminaires can also be installed at a later stage by
using original components of the Adolf Schuch GmbH only! In this case it is a must to observe
the determinations of EN 50019!
Attention: For max. fuse protection of the through wiring system please pay attention to the information
sign at the internal bottom of the housing!
Note: This lighting fitting can also be equipped with a special wiring system (extra charge) for connection to
an emergency light power supply unit or for connection to a central battery system.
Upon request this luminaire can also be equipped with the monitoring module of type q 2436
(special equipment).
In both cases the permissible ambient temperature for the luminaire is +50° C.
