Problem
No power
No picture
No sound
Remote control
does not work
Causes
Power adapter is not
connected correctly.
Power outlet is controlled
by a light switch that is
not turned on.
Power is not turned on.
TV is not turned on.
Video cable is not
properly connected
TV is not set up properly
Audio cable is not
properly connected
Volume control is
adjusted to minimum, or
MUTE is pressed
The batteries are not
inserted with the correct
polarity
The batteries are dead or
there are no batteries.
Remote control is too far
from the Media Console
Something is between
the remote and the Media
Console IR sensor..
Corrective Actions
Ensure the power adapter is
connected correctly
Ensure the power adapter is
not plugged into an outlet
controlled by a light switch or
turn on the controlling light
switch.
Press power button on
Media Console.
Ensure the TV is turned on.
Ensure the video cable is
connected correctly. Refer to
the "Hardware Installation"
section for detail.
Adjust TV input mode to A/V
or S-Video
Ensure the audio cable is
connected correctly. Refer to
the "Hardware Installation"
section for detail.
Turn the volume up or check
that MUTE is not selected
using the Media Console
remote control. Also ensure
that the volume is set high
enough on the TV and that
the TV mute is not selected.
Insert the batteries properly
Insert new batteries
Move the remote control into
the effective range
Remove the obstacle
